If a Meesho SKU shows a higher shipping charge than expected, changing its image may be tempting. First identify which number is high: the shipping estimate visible during listing, the customer-facing charge, or the deduction in your payment sheet. They are different observations and may need different fixes.
Check the physical parcel first
Pack one normal order exactly as you dispatch it. Weigh it, then measure the sealed length, width and height. Compare those values with the product and package information in your catalog. Excess space in a box or an inaccurate listing weight can matter more than a photo. Do not understate measurements to get a lower displayed charge: the dispatched parcel must match the data.
Check whether the catalog represents the right product
Use a main image that clearly shows the actual item and pack quantity, with the correct category and variants. Cropped or misleading images can make it harder to judge what is being sold; a category or attribute mismatch may also put the catalog in the wrong context. An image generator can prepare and compare image variants, but an image by itself does not make a heavy parcel lighter or guarantee a lower shipping fee.
The Meesho Image Generator is useful for testing supported image variants against the rate shown in its workflow. Treat a lower displayed estimate as a lead to verify in the current Supplier Panel and later in the payment sheet, not as a promised saving on every order.
Compare estimates with actual deductions
- Write down the SKU, catalog category, image variant and visible shipping estimate before making a change.
- Keep the product, pack quantity, declared weight and pickup settings consistent while testing an image. Otherwise you cannot tell what caused a difference.
- After real orders settle, compare the shipping or logistics deduction for the same SKU and similar order conditions. The Meesho P&L Analyzer can help inspect payment-sheet lines.
- If the actual charge still looks wrong, keep the source measurements, order IDs and settlement lines for a Supplier Panel support query.
Other reasons a charge can look high
- The packed parcel crosses a weight or size threshold.
- The wrong category, pack quantity or weight is saved in the catalog.
- A return or RTO deduction is being mistaken for forward shipping.
- Two orders being compared have different conditions, dates or delivery routes.
