Which format should you choose?
- JPG — the safe default for photos. Small files, accepted almost everywhere, including marketplace upload forms. No transparency.
- PNG — lossless and supports transparency. Best for logos, screenshots and graphics with sharp edges; usually too large for photos.
- WebP — smaller than JPG at the same quality and supports transparency. Ideal for websites; not every upload form accepts it.
PNG to JPG and transparent backgrounds
JPG cannot store transparency. When a transparent PNG is converted to JPG, the transparent areas have to become a colour; this tool fills them with white, which suits product photos. Converting a cut-out product PNG to JPG this way gives a clean white background.
Converting PNG to JPG without a black background →Converting WebP downloads to JPG
Many websites now serve images as WebP, so a saved image may arrive as .webp even when you expected a JPG. If an upload form rejects it, convert it to JPG here first.
Image Converter FAQ
How do I convert PNG to JPG?
Add the PNG, choose JPG and click Convert. Transparent areas become white, because JPG does not support transparency.
How do I convert WebP to JPG?
Add the WebP image, choose JPG and convert. Useful when a marketplace or form does not accept WebP uploads.
Does converting to JPG lose quality?
JPG is a lossy format, so a little detail is discarded. At 80–90% quality the difference is not visible for photos. Converting to PNG is lossless.
Can I convert to AVIF?
Only if your browser can encode AVIF. The tool offers AVIF automatically where it is supported.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Conversion happens in your browser and your images never leave your device.
